It might come as a surprise, but Trina Turk has been offering a menswear collection, dubbed Mr. Turk, ever since she opened her first retail store in Palm Springs in 2002. In the beginning, Mr. Turk consisted of a small number of pieces in the designer’s signature bold, vintage-inspired aesthetic — a few pairs of shorts, a trouser or two and a couple of shirts — and only available at two brick-and-mortar Trina Turk boutiques, the Palm Springs store and the one in East Hampton, N.Y. That’s since grown to a total of 23 styles (produced in limited runs of about 20 pieces each) for spring/summer 2010, with prices ranging from $128 (for a striped cotton short-sleeve button front shirt) to $398 (for a riotous jacquard pattern jacket). – From LA Times
