The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island is a magnificent resort resembling an old Southern estate. You get spectacular beach, fine dining and a great spa. Plus amazing golf.
The Sanctuary has the size and diversity to make it a great place for just about anyone. Golf fans will love the access to the great links. There is plenty of space for business retreats. The resort is big enough to have something for family members of any age. And couples looking for a great retreat won’t get caught in overcrowded spaces.
The first thing you’ll notice when arriving is that the hotel grounds are immaculate – the ‘little things’ don’t get left out – so often the case. Next, the staff will treat everyone like royalty. And then you’ll see your rooms – 255 large rooms and suites feature custom beds with fine linens and decorative pillows. The hand crafted furniture is beautiful and fitting with the hotel’s style. Suites are available with balconies, fireplaces and large living spaces. The baths are covered in marble and showcase walk-in showers and deep tubs.
Next you’ll say, what do you do on Kiawah Island? The first things is to golf – if you’re so inclined. As their website points out, Golf World Magazine voted Kiawah Island Golf Resort “#1 Resort in the U.S.”, T+L Golf Magazine the #2 Golf Resort in the U.S. and the prestigious Conde Nast Traveler as the #2 Island in North America and the
#3 Resort in the U.S. Not a bad pedigree.
If golf isn’t your game (or you need a break), then the Sanctuary offers numerous other outdoor activities. First, there are beautiful beaches. Swim, sun, whatever. They’re magnificent. Next you can bike, kayak, hike the island trails (the island is teeming with wildlife, especially birds) or visit the Nature Center (and touch an alligator or maybe even feed a dolphin). Kamp Kiawah offers great fun for the kids.
The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island offers a dozen dining options – to fit your mood, budget and situation. And don’t miss the world-class spa.
And finally, just relax. It’s not called ‘The Sanctuary’ for nothing. Whether it’s in the spa, on the beach or on your balcony listening to the waves – this place offers a place to relax and enjoy the world around you in a five-star accommodation.
