The Yeatman, a Porto, Portugal-based luxury wine hotel that is a member of Relais & Châteaux, is hosting “The Route of the Stars” featuring a cast of 14 top international Michelin-starred chefs from June 5th to June 7th. “The Route of the Stars” is a Michelin-studded event held across Portugal, which unites Michelin-starred Chefs from across Europe to provide a series of unique dinners in beautiful locations.
This will be the third consecutive year The Yeatman will serve as host for the star-studded event that pays tribute to haute cuisine paired with the best Portuguese wines.
The Yeatman, which was the winner of the “International Best of Wine Tourism” overall in 2014, is located within the historic Port wine lodge district of Oporto, Portugal. The property, which opened in 2010, is nestled on six acres of beautifully landscaped gardens and offers 82 individually decorated rooms and suites each offering breathtaking views over the River Douro and UNESCO World Heritage city of Oporto.
Launched in 2010, “The Route of the Stars,” which is held in various top restaurants throughout Portugal, enables guests to experience the cuisine of acclaimed Chefs and taste a variety of dishes at the highest gastronomic level in a single meal. This “moveable feast” is an opportunity for the Chefs to showcase their talents and inspire creativity with unique meals in exclusive venues and destinations.
“The Route of the Stars” concept at The Yeatman will feature seven Portuguese chefs and seven chefs from other countries.
On the first evening (June 5th), guests will be treated to a tasting menu with one of the Chefs seated at each table. Portuguese wines from leading producers (all of them among The Yeatman’s 76 highly reputed wine partners) will be paired with each course. The cost of the meal is €95 per person ($130) with wines included.
The following evening (June 6) will enable guests to watch nine Chefs “show cook” in the dining room. The cost of the meal is €110 per person ($151) including wines.
On the third and final evening (June 7), the Grand Finale will take place. At the concluding dinner, The Yeatman’s own Michelin-starred Chef, Ricardo Costa, will be joined by a duo of Michelin two-starred Chefs, Dieter Koschina of Restaurant Vila Joya (Algarve, Portugal) and Erlantz Gorostiza of Restaurant MB (Tenerife), as well as the Michelin three-starred Chef Juan Amador of Restaurant Amador (Mannheim, Germany). The cost for this evening’s events is €200 per person ($274) with wines included. The dinner promises to provide gastronomy and wines at their highest level within the beautiful environment of The Yeatman and its stunning, panoramic views over Porto and the river Douro.
The Yeatman, which opened in August 2010, is 90 minutes from the Douro valley. It features 12 suites and 70 rooms, each with a private terrace over-looking the river.
