Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles has been singled out for its ultra-luxurious, US$300 La Prairie facial which was named the world’s best spa treatment 2016 at the World Spa Awards.
At the sophomore edition of the event, held jointly with the World Travel Awards Europe in Sardinia over the weekend, industry leaders and travel experts gathered to recognise the best spa destinations around the world.
For $290, guests of The Beverly Hills hotel can pamper themselves with what’s been deemed the world’s best signature spa treatment for 2016: a 60-minute facial that uses La Prairie’s White Caviar Collection made with rare golden caviar extracts.
The promise? Even skin tone, firm and hydrated skin and a smoother, illuminated complexion.
Meanwhile, the Maldives was named the world’s best spa destination for offering a range of luxurious spa services and restorative wellness programs in a paradisiacal setting.
Traditional healing techniques are also used at Maldivian spas, including massages that use locally-extracted coconut palm tree oil and white sand to reduce stress and stimulate blood circulation.
Overall, the results of the awards suggest that the best spa experiences can be found in the Middle East, which took nine of the 24 category wins.
