Sometimes location is everything.
The Rock restaurant is a stunning example of this. It is built on a tiny ocean rock, just off Michanwi Pingwe beach on the island of Zanzibar (which is located in Tanzani – on the east coast of Africa).
The Rock is truly an original location. Resembling little more than a shack, the Rock has gained a reputation for offering exquisite views, excellent seafood and a one-of-a-kind experience.
At low tide, one can simply walk up to the restaurant. But at high tide, the Rock becomes surrounded by stunning turquoise waters. The restaurant will send a long boat to transport you ashore.
The menu is simple and heavy on seafood – such as local fish, lobster, prawns and calamari. But it is the atmosphere that draws people to the Rock.
