A crisply made bed that you could bounce a quarter off of is one of life’s small pleasures. It’s also an easily achieved pleasure, which is why it’s a shame that we usually only experience such a bed when we stay at a hotel.
Luckily for those who want to bring a little of the comfort and style from a luxury hotel into their own home, the Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris provides instructions on getting those linens neatly arranged. Constance Chapalain, the Assistant Housekeeper at the Parisian hotel, walks us through the basics of tucking corners and stuffing duvet covers. Obviously Chapalain has had a great deal more practice in this area than most of us, but by following these simple steps you too can have a bed worthy of a hotel suite. Of particular note is the method of tucking in the ends of the pillowcases in order to achieve a symmetrical and seamless look.
As a bonus, the second half of the Four Seasons video also contains a couple cleaning tips. It shouldn’t be — and it isn’t — that hard to have your home as neat and tidy as a hotel room. It’s a small thing, but it’s sure to lift your mood.
