For the fourth consecutive year, The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas welcomes the return of The Ice Rink, a seasonal attraction created by transforming the roof-top Boulevard Pool into a winter wonderland high above Las Vegas Boulevard. Overlooking the heart of The Strip from November 20 through January 3, visitors will be able to skate on 4,200 square feet of real ice, roast s’mores by the fire, and enjoy picture perfect vistas of the Vegas Strip. And thanks to a little Vegas magic, light snowfall is guaranteed to occur every 30 minutes between 6 and 10 p.m. each winter Wednesday through Sunday.
Even better, the Ice Rink will host a grand opening bash benefitting Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation and the Las Vegas chapter of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. The November 20 event will be co-hosted by world and U.S. figure skating champions Tai Babilonia and Randy Gardner, and features figure-skating performances by Olympic gold medalist Scott Hamilton, British national champion Steven Cousins, world and U.S. national champion Kimmie Meissner. Guests will have an opportunity to skate with the pro figure skaters, get their autographs, and bid for goodies in a silent auction benefiting the nonprofit. Tickets ($30-$75) include a hosted bar and tastings.
The party doesn’t stop there, because “Date Skate” Mondays offers a weekly winter movie date night on ice for screenings of classic holiday movies on the resort’s digital marquee, and “Throwback Thursdays” gets the party skating to the sounds of the ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s. Wednesday, Dec. 2, Vice on Ice returns to kick off “Industry Skate on The Strip” Wednesdays with DJ talent turning the rink into an outdoor nightclub from 8 pm – midnight. All season long, The Ice Rink lounge will serve up a variety of curated cocktails including the Cosmo’s winter signature drink, Campfire Delight, made with Belvedere Vodka, crème de cacao, RumChata and marshmallow.
Looking for a cool way to ring in the New Year? The Cosmopolitan has none other than Bruno Mars on stage at The Chelsea and has select 2-night, 2-ticket Terrace Suite packages available for $3850. The Ice Rink’s New Year’s Eve party will feature a live DJ, curated cocktails and seasonal food offerings for purchase. VIP tickets include reserved cabana, daybed and fire pit options, premium bottle service, and the best view of fireworks. Of course you’ll want a warm bed to crawl into in the wee hours of the morning, so book one of The Cosmopolitan’s luxury rooms – residential-style living spaces with private terraces high above the 100,000 square foot casino below.
