The City of Light features remarkable spa and beauty experiences. If you’re visiting the French capital, make sure you don’t miss out on some of the best spa treatments in Paris.
Spa Le Bristol by La Prairie
112 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, 75008 Paris
Le Bristol is the only spa in Paris fitted out with a Russian Room, containing the city’s only heated marble table. September sees the launch of a traditional Russian Banïya treatment including the “beating” of the body with ‘veniks’, birch branches infused in essential oils.
The ritual lasts 2 hours 40 mins and is priced at €450. It starts with hammam, then a raw sponge massage, then a crushed ice scrub, then the veniks. After that you’ll be swaddled in a honey body wrap and given a detox drink containing fresh ginger, lemon and thousand-flower honey, berries and red fruit. If you’re feeling shaken up, but you still want to stick to the theme, head upstairs to the bar for a vodka.
Martine de Richeville
13 Bd Malesherbes, 75008 Paris
Something of a legend in beauty circles, de Richeville also has locations in Brussels, Geneva and London,. Considered the queen of the anti-cellulite massage, her “remodeling technique” is the fruit of more than 15 years of research and practice.
Prices are on demand, and treatments are tailored to each client, but essentially you’re signing up for a deep body tissue massage designed to break down all types of cellulite and help to reshape your silhouette. Originally trained in psychology, de Richeville also helps clients with their self-image, while treatments also come with the advice of a nutritionist to provide tailored food and diet advice.
Four Seasons Hotel George V Spa
31 Avenue George V, 75008 Paris
At the George V, they don’t do things by halves and the 850-square-meter spa includes seven treatment rooms, a pool, saunas, steam baths, hair and makeup rooms, manicure and pedicure rooms, a fitness zone and a juice bar.
For a fun treatment, why not try “A Stroll through Versailles,” a 140-minute-long pampering priced at €450 and inspired by Queen Marie Antoinette. The whole treatment is scented with the famous royal’s favorite scent, orange blossom. It starts with a body scrub, followed by a soothing massage with warm shea butter, and concludes with an “unforgettable milky facial.” Afterwards you can nibble on orange blossom macarons, like a queen.
