It takes $1 billion to look down upon the world’s tallest building in Dubai, the city which is known for its superlatives with the tallest, the largest and the highest standards of luxury. The Tower in Dubai Creek Harbour has been designed to be a notch higher than 828 meter Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest tower.Dubbed the ’21st century Eiffel Tower’, the $1 billion landmark tower in the emirate’s financial center is scheduled to be completed for the Dubai Expo trade fair in 2020.Designed by Spanish-Swiss architect Santiago Calatrava Valls, The Tower with, 18 usable floors, will be a distinctive addition to the city’s skyline and a symbol of architectural excellence. The design is influenced by the natural contours of the lily and the region’s Islamic culture. Also evoking the image of a minaret, the elongated oval-shaped bud and geometric texture set the template for the observation decks. The slender stem serves as the analogy for the structure and is linked to the ground with sturdy cables which have been inspired by the delicate ribbing of the lily leaves.Offering unprecedented experiences for 360 degree views of the city and beyond, the crowning glory of The Tower will be The Pinnacle Room opening to grand views of the sky. The VIP Observation Garden Decks are conceived to recreate the splendor of the ‘Hanging Gardens of Babylon,’ one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Apart from being home to a world-class boutique hotel for visitors, the Tower will also boast of fully glazed rotating balconies that extend outward, rotating outside the skin of the tower.
