Receiving a rock star’s welcome as he took the stage, Elon Musk debuted his newest car to the world. The Model X is a larger, all electric crossover that seats up to 7 people and features unique, dual-hinged falcon-winged rear doors. The conventional front doors use proximity sensors to open automatically when you approach the car.
Highlighting its safety, performance, convenience, comfort sustainability and efficiency, Musk took the crowd through the car and all its details. The first SUV with a 5-star rating by every measure, it is the safest SUV ever.
As for performance, the Model X can tow up to 5,000 pounds while carrying 7 people and all their luggage. The all-wheel drive Model X features a 90 kilowatt-hour lithium ion battery with a 259 horsepower motor in the front and 503 horsepower in the rear, goes 257 miles on a charge, accelerates from 0 to 60 in 4.8 seconds and can reach a top speed of 155 mph. The Model X P90D features the famous “ludicrous” mode goes 0-60 in 3.2 seconds and has a range of 250 miles.
The Model X 90D starts at $132,000 and the more acceleration-friendly P90D will cost you $142,000.
