Power. It’s hard to live without it. Even camping you might want to charge up your smartphone, iPad, GPS or camera. Now comes the Power Katabatic, a solar-equipped tent from Eddie Bauer. The tent has a solar-soaking array on its roof that absorbs light all day. Inside the tent there are outlet plugs, allowing you to charge your favorite devices. The solar electricity can be stored in a battery pack or transferred straight into a device.
The tent weighs 8 pounds, is 92 inches tall and offers 36 square feet of space inside. The price is $500. You’ll need to add a battery pack as well, which can cost you a couple of hundred dollars.
The Solar-Equipped Tent from Eddie Bauer is not cheap by any means. But it offers a simple and efficient way to power essential devices in the field.
