All those who have laughed and smiled with Robin Williams haven’t yet come to terms with the news of his death. The beloved American actor and comedian will be loved and deeply missed by all who have been touched by his charisma. However there is a way to connect with the late artist as his Napa Valley home, dubbed Villa of Smiles has been listed.
It has been on the market since a couple of years and in spite of price deductions, the actor’s 653-acre Napa estate has failed to find buyers till date. However with his demise, the home has returned to limelight.
Exclusively built to cater to Williams’ taste, the property was christened by the actor as Villa Sorriso which means Villa of Smiles. Sadly it failed to live up to the Hollywood star’s expectations and hence he put it up on the market with a reduced price tag $29.9 million.
The property is made up of five bedrooms, six full and five half bathrooms, main house and a four bedroom guest house. Robin who preferred to call it the ‘ranch’ used it as a hideaway from Hollywood.
Located atop the Mayacama Mountains between Napa and Sonoma Valleys, the villa and its vineyards are located about 80 miles north of San Francisco. Built from Portuguese limestone, the villa also boasts of an oak-panelled library, a home theatre as well as climate-controlled storage for art and wine. Other highlights include a private tower with a bridge accessible from the master suite, along with a sixty-five foot infinity-edge pool, over 100 olive oil-producing trees, a seven-stall horse barn, hiking and riding trails as well as a spring-fed pond for bass fishing.
The library also features built-in book cases filled with objects to inspire the comedian and thinker, including a hand carved chessboard, antiques and sculptures from around the world, and an extensive book collection.
Our inside also reports that the life-sized bright red and blue sculptures stand out on the luscious green landscaping and vineyard which produces Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc varietals.
While the property will soon find a buyer in form of some ardent Robin Williams fan, he will be missed for ever! May his soul rest in peace.
