Apart from covering her elegant collections, we have also stepped inside the Carolina Herrera’s design studio on Seventh Avenue in New York City’s Garment District. Moving up close and personal, it’s time to take a look inside the beautiful abode of this Venezuelan-American fashion designer.

Striking an imperial pose in one of her many sitting rooms, she states, “Most of the furniture in this home was brought over from our house in Caracas.” Carolina’s husband Reinaldo has added his touch by designing the striped chaises which are featured in the above image.

Located on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, the designer’s town house warmly invites visitors into her private universe. Adding personal touches to her home, Carolina Herrera also gloriously announces that she loves everything that is in it!

The main door opens to a softly lit foyer that features a black-and-white checkerboard floor. Also rich jasmine fragrance which envelopes the air inside has a special meaning! The fragrance emanates from a candle designed by Herrera to capture the bouquet as it reminds her of her childhood. As Carolina poses in the foyer next to the stairway, a Warhol portrait dominates the stairway landing. A series of photos of her daughter Patricia’s children, taken by William Wegman are seen below her own picture!

The library boasts of a pastel portrait of husband Reinaldo’s mother, Mimi Herrera, which is put up over the fireplace.

Featuring 18th-century Italian chairs, the meal time area also warms up with wooden flooring which is hand painted to feature a geometric pattern of green, black, and gold marble.

Suggesting privacy and grace, a dressing table in the toile-covered bedroom displays family snaps and an inherited collection of antique silver hairbrushes.
