Donna Karan knows women. In 24 years, the designer’s eponymous, sleek and sensuous fashions have become a chic, timeless uniform for her many followers. On Wednesday and Thursday, a trunk show at Neiman Marcus in San Francisco will feature informal modeling and a sneak preview of her pre-fall and fall collections. Karan, who will be in town meeting with the store’s fashion director Ken Downing, but not appearing in public, recently chatted with The Examiner. When asked about what women want in style, she said, “a collection inspired to speak to a woman, her confidence, her power, her sophisticated lifestyle. For me, it all started with seven easy pieces.” – From SF Examiner
