Meet Sony’s latest effort to make “wearable technology” more appealing to consumers. SmartWatch 2 is the latest product released by the Japanese giant and unlike the previous model, it has water-resistant properties. In other words, it’s protected against accidental spills and splashes.
SmartWatch 2 adds NFC (Near Field Communication) for one-touch pairing to your Android smartphone and transforming it into “a second screen for your Android phone”. On your 1.6 inch touch-screen display you can get phone notifications, check e-mails, read the latest news while drinking your morning coffee, take pictures, control music and so on. This, let’s face it, changes the way we interact with our smartphones. Basically, we are able now to control everything, from our wrists.
The new smart gadget is made of aluminium and it boasts a removable 24mm wristband. You can customise the wristband It also comes with an improved battery life. Sony has already announced the release date is set for September, but the company didn’t say anything (yet) about the price.
