This year, Porsche celebrates the 50th anniversary of the famous 911 model. It is said that “few vehicles stir more passion for pure sports car performance than the iconic 911”. To mark the event, Gerry Judah designed a special installation, a sky-high sculpture, that defies gravity and holds together three gorgeous 911 cars: the original 1963 911 (left), the 1973 911 Carrera RS (centre), and the 2013 911 (right).
The 100-foot steel sculpture boosts surreal and futuristic arrow-like structures, with cars instead of arrowheads. The magnificent artwork can be admired in West Sussex, England, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The artist made a series of other car-themed installations for the same festival, over the years. He created unique sculptures featuring cars models of Ferrari, Jaguar, Mercedes-Benz, and other important car brands. The idea of speed and performance was this time perfectly surprised through height, orientation and last, but not least, the car models chosen for the project. Undoubtably, the cutting-edge sculpture surprises the very essence of power and speed, reminding us that sky is no longer the limit.
