The Shangri-La brand brings its 85th hotel to the portfolio with today’s opening of Shangri-La Hotel, Tianjin, a 302-room property along the Haihe River in the Hedong District, just 30 minutes from Beijing by train.
The hotel is located in an up-and-coming business area of the northern port city, which accounts for the lower-than-average rates of around $125 per night. Still, the large guest rooms, including a 517-square-foot Deluxe River View Room, and the Horizon Club Lounge on the hotel’s 32nd floor, make it an excellent choice for business travelers.
Its convenient proximity to River View Place, a prime shopping destination, makes it an ideal hotel for leisure guests as well. Notable amenities include a health club, indoor swimming, outdoor tennis courts and full-service gym.
Shangri-La’s signature Shang Palace restaurant serves local specialties and authentic Cantonese cuisine, while the more casual Café Yun features six theater kitchens laid out in a marketplace-style.
