American filmmaker Martin Scorsese, in partnership with the Film Foundation and Gucci, have premiered the resorted La Dolce Vita at the Tribeca Grand Theater. You too can catch Federico Fellini’s classic at the Film Forum, 209 West Houston Street, from June 3-16.
This is the 6th restoration in partnership with the Film Foundation and Gucci — past restorations have included Le Amiche, Senso and Gattopardo. Scorsese established the Film Foundation to preserve classic movies.
“Over the years, poor quality prints offered only a pale reflection of Fellini’s visual scheme,” said Scorsese.
