More and more, smart executives and remote workers are discovering the pleasure of hotels as inspiring change-of-pace workspaces with VIP perks. Why settle for the same four walls at home or office when a hotel suite offers a fresh view, in-room service, and reinvigorating coffee breaks at the pool?
The trend gave Virgin Voyages a brilliant idea. Richard Branson’s crackerjack team combined the resort Staycation and Pool Pass concepts and — like everything Branson’s inventive brand does — turned things up to 11. The adults-only cruise line has introduced its Summer Season Pass, a program where two passengers can sail the Caribbean on Valiant Lady all summer long on their choice of four weeks at sea, for a bargain $12,000. Conceived as a remote worker’s dream, it includes ultra-fast premium WiFi for connectivity at sea while you work from your suite, your balcony hammock, a pool lounge, or any other spot you like on the luxury vessel.
The four-cruise pass includes multiple Caribbean sailings on the Valiant Lady in a Central Sea Terrace cabin with Virgin’s iconic Yellow Leaf Hammocks; wash and fold laundry service to keep your “work” clothes ship shape; early booking access with priority reservations for dining and shore excursions; dedicated pre-voyage and on-board support; welcome bubbly to say “bon voyage”; and morning and afternoon coffees from The Grounds Club for proper pick-me-ups. The first 25 lucky sailors received bonus access to Richard’s Rooftop pool club, complete with chic sunbeds, private hot tubs and a daily happy hour. In other words, Virgin Voyages will spoil you forever when it comes to drab communal work spaces.
The clever Summer Season Pass idea sprang from Virgin Voyage’s experimental month-long work abroad program held on the Scarlet Lady and Resilient Lady ships, which nearly sold out. North American travelers then asked for a multi-cruise program to work while cruising on the DL while staying in a similar time zone. Sailors on the new Summer Season Pass can opt for four weeks at sea, departing from Miami on a long list of cruises that visit the powdery white sands of Bimini, the ancient Mexican ruins, the jungles of the Dominican Republic, and more. After all, with Virgin Voyage’s Summer Season Pass you can have it all.
Passes are available now through July 5, July 5-August 2, August 2-August 30, and September 4-October 1, 2024.
