Givenchy designer Riccardo Tisci is teaming up with Nike once again for a redesign of the Dunk sneaker. Working closely with the NikeLab design team, Tisci reimagined the shoe, exaggerating proportions, such as the extended height, big belly Swoosh and enlarged foxing and eyestay. Additionally, the back tab is upside-down and placed directly above the Riccardo Tisci logo on the heel.
His admiration for the Dunk in particular goes back to his youth, when he would often play basketball in a version of the shoe. “The first pair of Dunks I had were white and red,” he says. “I’ve been representing the brand for 25 years. I believe in the roots of the company, and always have.”
The Riccardo Tisci x NikeLab Dunk RT is equipped with a leather upper and Lunarlon cushioning and will retail for $300 on February 11th.
