Airbnb raised — and then promptly dashed — the fantasies of “Fifty Shades of Grey” fans after putting up a listing for a luxury apartment in the same condo as its sexy, fictional hero, Christian Grey.
In advance of the film release of the erotic novel, Airbnb posted a listing that offered up the chance to spend the night in “the sexiest building” in Seattle, the Escala, a luxurious residential complex and fictional home for Grey, the story line’s enigmatic and sexually ravenous millionaire.
For $257 USD a night (and a minimum three-night stay), fans would have been able to live out their own R-rated fantasy. Units in this desirable building begin at $1 million
But just days after being published, the posting was promptly taken down for violating the terms of the building’s ownership agreement, which prohibits short-term rentals.
