Of all the beautiful modern brick projects out there, the Rabbit Hole is definitely one of the most inspiring. Its ravishing contemporary design borrows an artistic elegance while maintaining a healthy simplicity. Transformed from a half-collapsed brick farmhouse into a double function structure – the structure is part residence, part veterinary clinic – the Rabbit Hole got its name from the masonry brick shaft that connects the practice, the home and the garden in a unifying space.
Designed by Hasselt-based studio LENS°ASS Architects, the luxurious home is located in the Gaasbeek village in Belgium, on a farm in the sloping Pajottenland landscape. From inside the minimalist interiors, one can enjoy the rural landscape alongside glimpses of the nearby seventeenth-century castle. By using brick “not only as a construction material, but also as a concept reinforcing the existing structure“, the architects have successfully created a charming dream home.
