James List has a rare watch that collectors will love.
Sometimes, it’s hard to get a grip of the almost endless supply of exquisite things that are available on JamesList. Believe me, I’ve tried. There are many different ways of trying to find the quirkiest and most interesting things, like sorting the inventory by price, but to really find the real gems there’s really no other method than manually browsing the system. Luckily, I’ve done just that, so you won’t have to. Today, the fruit of my labour is a 5110 World Time watch from Patek Philippe. Why did I choose this one? First of all, I have a weakness for world time watches. I’m generally a GMT function fan, but I’m much more attracted to the world time design, aesthetically, rather than just another extra hour hand. Secondly and more importantly, the watch in question is a limited edition specially made for the state of Qatar. See the “DOHA” in red? Doha (yeah, I had to fire up Wikipedia as well) is the capital city of the emirate state. Only a handful of “DOHA’s” were made, and to find one completely unused, like this one, is quite unusual – considering they were actually never for sale at a dealership, but were handed out as state gifts. – From James List
