The Bentley Mark V is regarded as the rarest model of Silver Ghost era at Rolls-Royce.
A piece of automotive history has recently been repatriated to England after spending the past 30 years in the hands of a Bentley enthusiast in Victoria. The 1939 Bentley Mark V was slated to make its first public appearance at that year’s 1939 Paris Motor Exhibition. With the outbreak of the Second World War, the show was canceled and production ground to a halt. With no more than 11 complete cars ever assembled and only seven known to survive after the war, the Mark V is regarded as the rarest model of the Silver Ghost era at Rolls-Royce. Local enthusiast David Scott bought car B-24-AW from a submariner from Monterey, Calif., in 1974 and brought it to Victoria. – From Times Colonist
