A rare sheet of 10 stamps depicting Audrey Hepburn sold for $606,000 at a charity auction in Berlin.

The stamps were originally printed by the German postal service in 2001 showing the Hepburn as Holly Golightly in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.” The stamps showed Hepburn with a long black cigarette holder. However, her son, Sean Ferrer, noted that the stamps were incorrect, and should have displayed his mother with sunglasses – not a cigarette holder. He refused to approve the stamp, and the 14 million made were destroyed – save for a few prints – including the one sent to Ferrer.

Ferrer agreed to auction the mint condition sheet he had originally been sent by the German postal service. Two-thirds of funds will go to the Audrey Hepburn Children’s Fund, and one-third to UNICEF Germany.
