The Stutz Bearcat is often called the car that invented ‘American Performance’. Created by the legendary Harry C. Stutz, this rare auto is going to auction with an estimated value of over $1 million.
The 1912 Model A Bear Cat of 1912 (this is the only year that the ‘Bear Cat’ was spelled with two words by the factory) was built in Wisconsin but ended up in California. It’s engine produced over 60 horsepower and reached speeds of 70 mph – impressive for its day.
The particular Bear Cat has never been put up for auction, making it a rare opportunity for care collectors to get their hands on an American icon.
The Stutz Bearcat was made famous in the early 70s due to a television show, Bearcats!, starring Rod Taylor. In the show, Taylor and his partner would adventure around the American Southwest in a 1914 Stutz Bearcat.
The is set to be auctioned in November by RM Auctions.
