It’s been the talk of the river boat cruise world for more than a year, and now it’s nearly here. Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection unveiled images of their newest Super Ship, S.S. Maria Theresa, as a prelude to her long-anticipated launch on March 26.
Uniworld’s most ambitious ship to date, this floating palace on water is fashioned in the spirit of her regal namesake, Empress Maria Theresa, with classically Baroque interiors, royal crown detailing, and a 10-foot high oil on canvas of Maria Theresa herself as the focal point of the ship’s grand lobby.
As the youngest sister ship to the beautiful S.S. Antoinette and S.S. Catherine — two of the most luxurious vessels on Europe’s waterways — the S.S. Maria Theresa will take guests to some of Europe’s most remarkable destinations in high style. Lavishly appointed river-view staterooms and suites feature open-air and French balconies on the Main and Upper Decks, uniquely-decorated rooms boast custom made-to-order English Savoir beds and marble bathrooms.
Uniworld’s new masterpiece, the S.S. Maria Theresa, will be christened in Amsterdam on March 26 by its godmother, Princess Anita von Hohenberg, a direct descendent of Maria Theresa and great-granddaughter of Archduke Franz Ferdinand and Duchess Sophie von Hohenberg.
Uniworld’s S.S. Maria Theresa will then set sail on her inaugural voyage on March 28 on the line’s “Tulips & Windmills” tour. She’ll also transport 150 privileged passengers and a generous staff of 57 for the line’s popular “European Jewels,” “Danube Holiday Markets,” and “Enchanting Christmas & New Year’s Cruise” itineraries. Uniworld Boutique River Cruises has justifiably earned awards and accolades for its exemplary service as the only true all-inclusive boutique cruise line in Europe, plus the line’s newest routes in Asia, India and Egypt.
