Porsche has announced that the Cajun SUV we be available in 2013. The Cajun, which is a working title for the vehicle, will be a smaller, less expensive version of the Cayenne. Porsche is aiming at attracting younger drivers to their brand.
The folks at James List said that is will most likely be equipped with Audi‘s 3.0-liter supercharged, direct-injection six-cylinder engine, with diesel and hybrid versions as well.
The move comes as autos like the BMW X3 have had success attracting younger drivers. Luxury car manufacturers have often fought introducing lower priced models, for fear of diluting their brand. But the strategy has been a success for many car makers, and Porsche wants to get in on the game sooner than later.
