Porsche gave the Cayenne S SUV a performance boost with a new diesel version that is both more powerful and fuel efficient.
Porsche’s new Cayenne S is propelled by a twin-turbo V8 4.2-liter engine that produces 382 bhp, which enables it to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 5.7 seconds and to reach a top speed of 157 mph (252 km/h). The vehicle will reportedly consume 8.3l of fuel per 100km (28.31 mpg) and emit 218g of CO2 per km.
Thanks to its impressive torque (850 Nm or 627 lb-ft), the Cayenne S Diesel can handle any type of trailer under 3.5t. Its 100l tank also enables it to travel nearly 1,200 km (745 mi) without refueling.
Porsche added all the features it could to give the SUV near sports-car-like performance.
The Porsche Cayenne S Diesel will be available in dealerships in January 2013.
