When you have a modern, elegant home, the perfect sofa is hard to find – a piece of furniture that can evoke a feeling and offer a creative alternative to inexpressive sofa models on the market. The Borghese Sofa was created by Noé Duchaufour Lawrance to be differentiated from the others in a subtle, elegant way. This furniture jewel designed for La Chance is lightly constructed to offer an artistic view – you can guess the curves shaping tree crowns when the sofa is unoccupied, but once you turn it around, there is no doubt that this piece of furniture creates a stylized landscape.
Inspired by the stone pines of the Villa Borghèse in Rome, which also led to the creation of the “Pines of Rome” symphonic poem, this sofa captures the essence of a natural element in a unique man-made design. Its backrest shapes the image of three pines, with the metal legs and support structure acting as the trunks and branches – solid yet fluid – and the seating area and backrest pieces shaping a playful trio. How can that not be beautiful?
