Meet the thinnest TV on the market. The DesignLine LED HDTV from Philips is nothing more than a sheet of glass available in numerous sizes and appears to be a thin mirror when switched off. The TV’s design allows for it to be hung or leaned against any wall for a truly contemporary look. Thanks to its shape you can hang it or even lean it on any wall in your home or office thanks to Philips’ newly designed mounting system.
Coming in 46- and 55-inch screen sizes, the Philips DesignLine series sees an LCD display sitting behind the front glass sheet. The TV itself features a 1400 Hz Perfect Motion Rate and active 3D technology for Full HD 3D. It is powered by a dual-core processor powering Philips’ Perfect Pixel HD engine and boasts Micro Dimming and Local Contrast, suggesting LED backlighting.
There’s no word yet on the DesignLine’s price, additional specifications, or how quickly your children will break it, but Philips says that the DesignLine TVs are ready for mass production. Expect these to start hitting the retail scene heading into the summer season.
