The Big Apple’s fashion arena got dotted with one more destination to fill up the closets and empty the wallets. German fashion designer and founder of the namesake brand, Philipp Plein, is making his presence felt strongly on the US soil with the opening of the Madison Avenue store.
This expansion is the third in line after the opening of a store in Miami and a luxurious showroom overlooking Central Park last year. Located at 625 Madison Avenue, the Manhattan boutique spreads over 140 square meters. Designed and conceived by Philipp Plein in collaboration with the Milanese architectural firm, AquiliAlberg, the store unveils a new refined concept for the brand.
The store is designed to make a powerful brand statement with large blocks of smoked marble with steel finishing, dark Murano glass chandeliers, strategically placed light fixtures to render contrasting areas of light and shadow and more. Apart from the predominant hexagonal logo, the centerpiece of attraction is the new black version of the iconic skull which dazzles with crystallized Swarovski Elements.
In an attempt to create a unique shopping experience, even the products are displayed like authentic objects d’art. The store’s rocking décor is complemented with the brand’s rocking read-to-wear collection.
Blending the rock and roll spirit with sumptuous materials and fine Italian craftsmanship, the new Manhattan boutique offers men’s wear and women’s wear collections including accessories, shoes, bags and jewelry.
To mark the opening of the brand’s first store opening in New York City, Philip Plein hosted a cocktail party during New York fashion week. It was attended by the likes of Steven Klein, Chiara Ferragni, Byrdie Bell, Alexandra Richards, Victoria Silvstedt, Patti Wilson, Shanina Shaik and other industry influencers, models, musicians as well as many of the world’s most respected fashion editors and bloggers.
Philipp Plein recently also unveiled his Autumn/Winter 2014 women´s fashion collection, christened ‘My American Dream’ inspired by the West.
