The painting “A Commander Being Armed for Battle” by Flemish master Peter Paul Rubens – put up for auction by the family of the late Princess Diana – sold at auction for $13.68 million.
The painting was done in 1613 or 1614 and features a bearded man gazing toward the viewer.
The auction house Christie’s valued the picture from $12-16 million.
