The Peninsula Hotels group is launching a new spa, wellness, healthy dining, and lifestyle program, and — in conjunction with the launch — opening its first dedicated Peninsula Wellness Centre at The Peninsula Spa in Bangkok.
According to the luxury hotel group, Peninsula Wellness will combine the best of Ayurveda, Asian tradition and Western practice.
The Peninsula Bangkok, inaugurated as the program’s global centre of spa and wellness excellence, aims to relax and rejuvenate mind and body, and help visitors to escape the stress of modern living. Highlights of the new Wellness Centre include The Peninsula Sleep Ceremony (exclusively created by ESPA for stressed travelers), which combines an indulgent sleep bath, guided meditation and breathing techniques to rebalance electromagnetic energies, a hot stone body massage to release toxins, and a face massage to relieve tight jaw and forehead muscles… and Sattva by Simply Peninsula, a range of vedic aromatherapy-inspired spa products and treatments formulated exclusively for The Peninsula Hotels.
Thailand is often acclaimed as the haven of Oriental health practices, so The Peninsula Wellness Centre has collaborated with Wat Pho Traditional Thai Medical and Massage School, also known as the birthplace of the Thai massage, so guests at The Peninsula Spa can revitalise body and mind with a new range of Thai massage treatments.
For guests who are health-aware but do not want to compromise on culinary finesse, the hotel’s new Naturally Peninsula cuisine offers a selection of healthy, balanced dishes that focus on locally-sourced ingredients. Also, later this year, inspiring Naturally Peninsula Academy cooking classes (showcasing fresh, healthy ingredients and cooking techniques) will be an added offering.
In addition to The Peninsula Bangkok’s renewed focus on wellness, the venue’s spa has also been dedicated as a Biologique Recherche “Ambassade de la Beauté” — the first hotel spa in the world to receive the accolade — for the excellence of practice by The Peninsula’s team of therapists.
