HBO announced it would shoot current Broadway production of ‘The Pee-Wee Herman Show’. Pee-Wee – aka Paul Reubens – was originally broadcast by HBO almost 30 years. It would go onto a long run on TV as well as two feature films – before Reubens arrest in a porn theater effectively killed the franchise in the early 90s.
‘The Pee-Wee Herman Show’ Broadway run ends on January 2, 2011, and HBO will shoot the special afterward, with a broadcast date sometime in 2011.
