We have already been inside Patrick Dempsey’s Malibu den. The American actor and race car driver, best known for his role as neurosurgeon Dr. Derek Shepherd on Grey’s Anatomy has hit the headlines lately for his exit from the television series.
It’s been a season of goodbyes for Patrick Dempsey on a personal front too as the actor is also getting divorced from Jillian Fink, his wife of 15 years. This has pushed the 49 year old star to bid adieu to his expansive Malibu estate located on the affluent beach city in Los Angeles County, California.
Dempsy has listed his Frank Gehry-designed estate for $14.5 million which he had bought six years ago for $7 million. The 3.23 acre compound boasts of a corrugated metal-clad home. 
It had been designed by Frank Gehry as both a studio and residence for abstract painter Ron Davis in 1972.
The rhomboid shaped structure is home to three bedrooms, three and half bathrooms including a master suite with fireplace and dual bathrooms. 
It is also fitted with floors made of re-purposed scaffolding and comes with a concrete sink in the kitchen and a sculpture studio. 
Liberally lit with natural sunlight, the house is interconnected with living spaces that include a large room with fireplace, a well-equipped cook’s kitchen, multiple dining areas, a roomy family room and an office. 
Residents of the house can connect with nature in style with an al fresco kitchen, an outdoor shower, a pergola-shaded dining area, a rock climbing wall, a soccer pitch, a chicken coop, a small organic vegetable and flower gardens. 
The backyard opens up to a recycled-wood deck, spacious pool, fire pit and a pizza oven. The estate is also dotted with numerous olive and fruit trees.
Equestrian facilities include a four-stall barn and pasture while a perfectly restored Airstream trailer serves as guest quarters or a home-away-from-home.
