While Birdman and The Grand Budapest Hotel bagged the most awards at the 87th Academy Awards ceremony, our eyes were glued on the gorgeous ladies on the Oscars red carpet. Held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, the Oscars 2015 is undoubtedly the most glamorous night of the year in Hollywood. Award-worthy stars step out in their best red carpet looks dominated by striking colors, perfect fits and dazzling embellishments. Take a look at just a few of the best looks that stole the sartorial show at this year’s Academy Awards.
Julianne Moore –
The winner of the Academy Award for Best Actress nailed it with the award-worthy outfit for the evening. Julianne walked on to the red carpet in a custom, beaded Chanel outfit designed by Karl Lagerfeld himself. Chanel Haute Couture gown is embellished with 80,000 small white hand painted resin sequins as well as and flowers made of ivory, beige and black organza, tulle and sequins.
Jennifer Lopez –
The 45 year old diva took the plunge in a blush champagne, embellished ball gown from Elie Saab at the 2015 Academy Awards. Sporting a deep neckline and a long trail, JLo blushed as she composed herself after a bit of trip on the stage.
Emma Stone –
Nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Birdman, Emma stole the show on the red carpet at the awards in a dazzling long-sleeve, chartreuse custom Elie Saab gown that also featured a daring high slit on one side.
Dakota Johnson –
The star brought the shade of the famous red room from 50 Shades of Grey on to the red carpet in form of one-shouldered Saint Laurent dress.
Lupita Nyong’o –
Last year’s Academy Award winner of Best Supporting Actress for her role in 12 Years a Slave wore a custom design gown by Francisco Costa of Calvin Klein Collection. The bejeweled halter-neck dress was outstandingly studded with 6000 natural pearls. Its a must have for divas who are not satisfied with the idea of wearing just some pearl jewelry.
Keira Knightley –
Nominated for for best supporting actress in The Imitation Game, the mother-to-be gracefully disguised her baby bumpy in a flowing Valentino creation.
Jennifer Aniston –
The actress wowed in a nude Versace gown which was heavily embroidered with beads and sequins.
Reese Witherspoon –
Nominated for her role in Wild, Reese with-her-spoon (as Neil Patrick Harris called her jokingly) bought Tom Ford to Oscars’ red carpet in form of simple light blue gown.
