Some big name pieces are coming up for sale on the online auction house, Artnet Auctions.
Artnet Auctions, an online auction house that sells works from a network of more than 700 galleries, has gathered a collection of contemporary prints by Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, Francis Bacon, and others for its upcoming Prints Masterworks sale September 17-29. The sale will feature 150 works, ranging from 1945 to present day and priced from $3,000 to $75,000. The online auction house employs a curatorial department, responsible for cataloging each work’s provenance and condition. Artnet also offers comparables from recent sales at other auction houses, which help a buyer gauge the price of the work currently being offered relative to the market. Among the pieces in the Prints Masterworks sale is Roy Lichtenstein’s Art Critic, a screen print estimated to sell between $25,000 and $35,000. – From Robb Report
