Update from Pursuitist auto editor, live at Pebble Beach: “BMW i8 Charity car blows by $200k pre-auction estimate and sells for $750k.”
BMW has announced plans to offer an i8 Concours d’Elegance Edition at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and the proceeds of the sale will go to charity. The one-off model will feature a BMW Individual Frozen Grey Metallic exterior and the company’s new laser headlights.
The one-off model will go under the hammer at the Gooding & Company Pebble Beach Auction on August 16th. The i8 is expected to fetch between $150,000 and $200,000 and the auction will be broadcast as a live stream via Gooding’s website. All proceeds will benefit the Pebble Beach Company Foundation and the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
The one-off BMW i8 features Dalbergia Brown leather upholstery, BMW i Blue contrast stitching and special trim from the Pure Impulse Tera World package. Other highlights include “BMW i8” embossed headrests and laser etched “Concours d’Elegance Edition” badging.
