Old American Golf Club and Dallas-area NYLO Hotels are offering “Ultimate Final Four Packages” for guests to enjoy during the NCAA Men’s Final Four Championship from April 5 to April 7. The package includes accommodations at one of three participating NYLO hotels and a round of golf at Old American, a classically designed golf course by award-winning architect Tripp Davis and Justin Leonard, a PGA TOUR player and Ryder Cup star.
Old American Golf Club, which opened in 2010, is a strategic gem wrought along the shore of Lake Lewisville which is located twenty minutes north of Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. Inspired by the ‘Golden Age’ of golf course architecture, it garnered “best new” recognition from GOLF Magazine, Golfweek and LINKS. The course features naturally formed bunkers, organic green complexes and a variety of native grasses that combine to create holes leveraging varying wind conditions. It was designed along the same lines as such classic courses as Shinnecock Hills, National Golf Links, Prairie Dunes and Crystal Downs.
The golf course emphasizes strategy and shot-making and flows with a natural rhythm from first tee to 18th green. Old American features six sets of tees, ranging from the 5215-yard forward markers to the 7174-yard “Leonard” tournament tees. Davis and Leonard conceived the routing and layout with both medal and match play in mind, as golfers are required to hold “steady to par” through a number of holes, but enticed to gamble on birdie or better during select stretches of the course.
“The Ultimate Final Four Package is perfect for basketball loving golfers looking for an unparalleled Final Four experience in Dallas-Fort Worth,” says Mike Mueller, chief executive of NYLO Hotels.
