Two decades have passed since grunge rock band Nirvana released the classic ‘Nevermind’. The album would launch an entire sub-genre of rock and pave the way for other like-minded artists, such as Pearl Jam, Soundgarden and many others. Nirvana and ‘Nevermind’ would re-define the music industry.
Rolling Stone is reporting that on September 27, the band will offer a 20th Anniversary reissue of ‘Nevermind’, which will include not only remastered versions of the original songs, but never-before-heard demos, alternate versions, B-sides and even an entire live show. The reissue will be available in different versions, ranging from a single CD up to a five-disc box set.
The reissue was assembled by surviving band members Kurt Novoselic and Dave Grohl, as well as the album’s producer, Butch Vig, plus representatives of Kurt Cobain’s estate. Cobain would commit suicide in 1994, but Nirvana’s legacy burns bright to this day. Fans of Nirvana, Cobain and rock music, should relish the upcoming release.
