The Smyth Tribeca, the boutique hotel located in New York’s hip Tribeca neighborhood, is relaunching as a “home away from home”.
The property, which is part of the Thompson Hotel portfolio, an international hospitality company, will be implmenting a new mid-century modern design by celebrated interior design firm Gachot, with thoughtful services and amenities, including new food and beverage programming by James Beard award-winning Chef Andrew Carmellini and his partners Josh Pickard and Luke Ostrom.
Renovations will also include a light refresh of the hotel’s 100 well-appointed guestrooms, including the expansive Penthouse and Smyth Suite.
During the transition, Smyth Tribeca will remain open for hotel stays with exclusive guest access to the luxurious Penthouse and Terrace as a temporary guest lounge. Hotel renovations are slated for completion in late 2014.
The property, which is known for reflecting Tribeca’s rich history and vibrant culture, is custom-tailored to its downtown location. The intimate 14-story hideaway is centrally located at 85 West Broadway on the corner of Chambers Street, just steps away from the subway and many boutiques, art galleries, restaurants, parks and cultural attractions that compose the thriving neighborhood of Tribeca.
Founded in 2001, the Thompson portfolio of lifestyle hotels includes Gild Hall in New York; the famed Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in Los Angeles; the recently opened Thompson Chicago; and Thompson Toronto and Belgraves in London. Thompson Hotels has multiple new projects currently under development, including Thompson Miami Beach, Thompson Los Cabos and Thompson Playa del Carmen.
