Bentley is planning on launching the most luxurious SUV in the world sometime around 2015.
Details about the vehicle have been sketchy, but new reports indicate the SUV will have a 12-cylinder engine. It’s likely that Bentley will use the 6.0-liter W12 unit engine that is currently found in the Continental GT, GTC and Flying Spur. The W12 packs about 575bhp.
There are currently no SUVs on the U.S. market that feature a 12-cylinder engine.
The company also plans to offer a V12 version within a couple of years of launch.
Bentley has added Porsche’s Rolf Frech to be its chief engineer for the SUV project.
