Burberry moves over Kate and Cara to make way for two new British models for their latest campaign. Naomi Campbell and Jourdan Dunn lead the British brand’s Summer/Spring 2015 campaign. It is the first time the label has exclusively cast colored female supermodels in a fashion campaign.
Lensed by Mario Testino, the duo posed their best for the campaign directed by Christopher Bailey. Clad in Burberry’s popular trench coats and dresses and sporting colourful scarves and Bee tote bags bearing Burberry’s distinctive plaid pattern, they have also worn Burberry sunglasses for the images as well as the video that supports the ad campaign. Wendy Rowe took care of the makeup.
WWD also states that the spring campaign marks 24-year-old Dunn’s fourth for Burberry since 2011, while it’s the first time 44-year-old Campbell has been in a Burberry campaign since 2001, when she appeared alongside Kate Moss.
Burberry’s chief creative and chief executive officer Christopher Bailey makes an admiring statement in support of the two new faces, “Naomi and Jourdan — two great British icons, two strong, beautiful women and the two perfect faces for our new campaign.”
Musicians George Barnett and George Le Page pose as the male British counterparts of the new promotion. Both the men also face the camera for Testino, bringing attention to Burberry’s tailoring, along with its Travel Satchel bags and Field Sneaker shoes.
