For more than half a century, Chinese Modernist ink painter Zeng Shanqing has been capturing, with bold and swift brushstrokes, the grace of Tibet’s stallions, ponies, and other majestic creatures. Goedhuis Contemporary (www.goedhuiscontemporary.com), an art gallery located on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, will showcase a collection of Zeng’s latest works from July 14 to 31. Gallery owner Michael Goedhuis says that he considers Zeng’s work to be particularly effective in “metaphorically highlighting the deep yearning for freedom, not only in Tibet but in China herself.” The prices for these images by Zeng range from $20,000 to $50,000. – From Robb Report
