It was around 50 years ago that the first example of the legendary four-wheeler rolled off the production line. To mark the big 50th birthday, MINI presents its 50 Years Collection, featuring clothing and accessories that are sure to appeal not just to long-standing fans.
50Y style highlights.
The mod look is back! The parka has enjoyed absolute cult status since the sixties, riding out innumerable fashion trends. MINI now presents its own modern rendition of the classic M51 Fishtail design. The olive-green unisex parka with hood comes with a neat feature: a velcro fastener on the left sleeve enables cool patches to be attached according to taste.
Shop till you drop! As befits the occasion, MINI has dug deep into the historical photo archives. The upshot is three 50Y Shopper bags in trendy retro look. The design of the bags draws on vintage themes of the sixties and there is a choice of prints with motifs of London, Monte Carlo and the Costa Azzurra. These capacious shout bags are available in various sizes and shapes to suit any retail therapy outing.
Sneak a peek! In collaboration with the experts at Onitsuka Tiger, MINI has designed the 50Y Anniversary Sneaker Edition. This limited collection comprises the 50Y Camden sneakers in brown leather with grey contrast stripes as well as the 50Y Mayfair style in grey leather with turquoise stripes. The insoles of these two sporty sneaker styles take their lead from the design of the MINI car seats, while the metal shoelace eyelets are inspired by the chrome on the headlights. The anniversary logo can be found on the heel of the sneakers.
The aviator-style 50Y Anniversary Sunglasses are a homage to the home country of the brand and feature a compelling Union Jack design on the inside frame that makes each pair of shades unique. A discreet MINI logo appears on both earpieces while shatterproof lenses of high-grade plastic provide 100% UV protection.
Alongside these highlights, the MINI 50Y Collection includes many more outfits and accessories. The complete collection is available through the internet at www.MINI.com/shop.
