Michael Jackson and his legendary voice will live on forever! The Man in the Mirror singer has dominated the headlines even after his demise. Out to Heal The World, the King of Pop had built a home as well as private amusement park for himself in California. The same 2,700-acre estate, dubbed, Neverland has been listed for $100 million. Located at 5225 Figueroa Mountain Road, Los Olivos, California 93441, it was designed to be the happiest place on earth. Named after the fantasy island in the story of Peter Pan, Neverland by MJ is now called Sycamore Valley Ranch.
Though the new listing is sans the amusement park rides, the orangutans and elephant, the estate still maintains the iconic floral clock, which spells out Neverland as well as the building that once housed the Neverland Valley Fire Department. Even the railroad tracks and train station created by Jackson are still there.
The estate which was home for You Are Not Alone singer for over fifteen years, has about 22 structures on it. WSJ also states that the Normandy-style main house, which sits between the property’s two lakes, measures about 12,000 square feet, with six bedrooms plus an attached staff quarters. There’s a four-bedroom guesthouse near the main home and a two-bedroom guesthouse a little farther away.
There’s also a swimming pool with a cabana, a barbecue area, basketball court and a tennis court. A 50-seat movie theater has a private viewing balcony, and a stage includes trap doors for magic shows.Suzanne Perkins of Sotheby’s International Realty shares the listing of the property with Harry Kolb of Sotheby’s and Jeffrey Hyland of Hilton & Hyland. Ms. Perkins also warned that this is not a chance for fans to tour their idol’s home as they will require ‘extensive prequalification’ of potential buyers. Also the seller is not encouraging a lot of showings. The Wall Street Journal
