They may not be sexy, but when it comes to hauling around a large family, the old-fashion minivan has no peer. With that in mind, Mercedes-Benz is looking like it will be delivering a minivan to the U.S. market by 2015. The minivan will likely be a rear wheel drive version of the new V-class minivan (called the Viano overseas), which goes on sale in Europe next spring. It would compete with the likes of the Chrysler Town & Country, the Honda Odyssey, the Nissan Quest and the Toyota Sienna. Also, expect a commercial van – The Vito – to come to America at the same time.
Expect the V-class to be upscale in its decor, lighting and electronic features. It will likely have four- and six- cylinder engine options.
