Max Azria’s Maison du Soleil is the latest celebrity-owned property to hit the market. Los Angeles based fashion designer has listed his Holmby Hills estate on the Multiple Listing Service for $85 million.
Set on three acres, the 30,000 square feet estate features 17 bedrooms and 33 bathrooms. The mega-mansion was designed by architect Paul Revere Williams in the 1939 and includes 60 rooms in all. A red colored double-door allows entry inside the two-story mansion, while a stunning floor-to-ceiling waterfall chandelier made from over 150,000 hand-placed crystals welcomes residents and guests in the foyer.
Other over-the-top re-modeled features include a Moroccan-style bathhouse, a 6,000-square-foot movie theater, a bar, a guesthouse, two-sided gas fireplace, unique lighting fixtures, walk-in refrigerator and more.
It is also reported that five stylized garden areas define the grounds, which include a tennis court, a swimming pool and expanses of lawn. The estate is also dotted with two green houses with glass ceilings of which one has been transformed into a gym and the second is used for organic farming. Azria, 66, the founder of BCBG Max Azria, had purchased the property for $14.4 million in 2005 from famed television writer and novelist Sidney Sheldon.
