The Martian takes off as Matt Damon plays the role of an astronaut who fights to survive on Mars. Back here on planet Earth, the star is set to off load his mansion in the upscale Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles.
Matt Damon has listed his Zen-modern mansion in the celeb-saturated upper Rivera area for around $20 million. The 45 year old American actor had purchased the 9,000-square-foot property for $15 million just two years back in 2013. 
The California estate features nine bathrooms and seven bedrooms, including two guest or staff bedrooms.
Damon’s abode was designed in the mid-2000s by L.A-based KAA Design Group as a cluster of interconnected glass, stone and wood pavilions that orbit around a central atrium with a soaring, 35-foot mahogany ceiling. 
Variety also reports that the open-plan layout provides generous formal living and dining rooms, an office, eat-in kitchen and family room, a screening room and a state-of-the-art home gym.
Glass walls open up to a series of courtyards, gardens and sleeping porches. For $20 million, the 0.68 acre property also comes with flat lawns and gardens connected by wood walkways and numerous water features that include a koi pond and a swimming pool with adjacent pavilion.
Matt Damon’s decision to sell his Pacific Palisades mansion follows hot on the heels of his friend Ben Affleck listing his Los Angeles home in the same neighborhood.
